Welcome to our Hub for information regarding COVID-19 Crisis Management.
Here we will centralize all the information about the actions that AIESEC in Brazil is taking to manage the Crisis and its impacts on our exchange operations. Right now, ensuring the well being and health safety of our customers, members and stakeholders is our top priority. For that, we believe that we also need to be on the same page as our IR Partners. That’s why we will keep this Hub updated regularly so you can keep track of our decisions and next steps as AIESEC in Brazil. Besides that, count on our MC Team to ensure communication stronger than ever in the following weeks.
Our Operations:
Right now, we still have around 250 people in Brazil and 300 Brazilians overseas. For those EPs, our recommendation keeps the same: break the realization and return home as soon as possible. The only exception for that is oGT and iGT EPs who have finished dates predicted for after September 1st. For those, our recommendation is to continue their experience, but respect government and companies directions about health safety. For the EPs that insisted on continuing the experience after our first recommendation back in middle March, they were required to sign a Declaration on One’s Own Responsibility. Independently of the situation, we will be supporting them through the whole process. During this week, we are auditing all the visas and health insurances of EPs who are traveling right now to ensure they are all safe on health support and legal status in the current country.
One specific situation that is important to give further clarification is about the EPs who are unable to return home due to borders closure. For those EPs, we are suggesting for them to get in contact with both air company and Embassy, as they have key roles in making their return possible. During the whole time, we are supporting them until they can get safely back to Brazil or to their home country. For ICX EPs, we are trying to ensure accommodation until they leave the country with voluntary hosts and LC members. However, if finding free accommodation isn’t possible, AIESEC in Brazil will support them in finding a place to stay, but the EP will be responsible for any extra costs that might appear. If you have a specific situation to discuss or need further information, please approach our ICX team.
For EPs approved to realize before September 1st, we will contact our Partners and EPs to postpone their RE Date for after September 1st. If postponing isn’t possible, we recommend breaking the approval. Until now, there is no possibility to start an experience before this date due to the global scenario and risks involved.
For EPs approved to realize after September 1st, we are not making any changes on their exchanges yet. We are only encouraging our membership to contact all of them as soon as possible to provide the necessary support at this moment. During the next few weeks, we will evaluate the situation and take further decisions, if needed.
Thinking about our current financial situation and network continuity, we decided to restart/continue all attraction and consideration procedures. However, we will only work with online attraction in the following weeks and we adapted all of our sales speech to fit the current global scenario. For that, we created a large portfolio of specific actions and speeches for our EPs and Partners, with an education plan for the network. We will focus on realization for our next peak - December and January - but we are approving for any date after September 1st. We are also realigning all open opportunities for this timeline. For IGV, we already have opportunities for June and July 2021 as well.
We adapted all of our touchpoints with the network to in virtual way. Also, we are giving all the necessary support for membership to keep connected and engaged to AIESEC. Our current focus is to contact all EPs that are approved to realize before September 1st and realign our Partners on that. Also, we are adapting our Consideration process for opportunities with RE starting after September 1st. At last, both in ICX and OGX, we are working with the message of “stay home and do your exchange later”. This will be the message on our online attraction for OGX . For ICX, we are launching the campaign “stay home now and Impact Brazil later” on April 15th.
Also, we had our first virtual conference with over 1500 members: the Growth Academy 2020.
